Uzbekistan to Canada Spousal Sponsorship

Last updated: January, 2026

Sponsor spouse or partner from Uzbekistan to Canada

Sponsoring a spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner from Uzbekistan involves several important country-specific requirements that go beyond the standard spousal sponsorship application. While the overall process follows IRCC’s general framework, applicants from Uzbekistan are subject to additional scrutiny related to travel history, military service, and employment records, making careful preparation especially important.

With accurate documentation and well-organized evidence, applicants can move through the sponsorship process smoothly and confidently. If at any point you feel unsure about a document or a specific step, our consultants are available to guide you and help avoid costly delays. From 2016 to 2024, our Canadian immigration consultants have supported 102 clients from Uzbekistan in navigating Canada’s immigration pathways with care and precision. IRCC requires additional forms for residents of Uzbekistan. All principal applicants and accompanying family members aged 18 or older must complete Supplementary Information – Your Travels (IMM 5562) to provide a detailed record of travel and residence history.
Applicants who have served in the military, police, defence units, or held senior government positions must also complete Details of Military Service (IMM 5546). A full copy of the military card or booklet must be submitted, including all pages, even if blank.

IRCC applies specific document requirements for Uzbekistan. If a divorce occurred in Uzbekistan, applicants must submit a copy of the divorce certificate. In addition, the principal applicant and all family members aged 18 or older who hold an Uzbek passport must provide a complete copy of their labour book or workbook, including every page. These records are used by IRCC to assess employment history and background consistency.

Most sponsored applicants from Uzbekistan are required to provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo) after submitting their application. Once IRCC issues the Biometrics Instruction Letter, biometrics must be completed at an authorized Visa Application Centre within the required timeframe.
