Uruguay to Canada Spousal Sponsorship
Last updated: January, 2026
If you’re sponsoring a spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner from Uruguay, IRCC requires the standard spousal sponsorship application package, with no Uruguay-specific additional forms at this time.
Our Toronto immigration consultants assisted several clients from Uruguay. This experience allows us to anticipate common issues and prepare applications in a way that helps reduce delays and follow-up requests from IRCC. You can now review our Spousal Sponsorship page, review our fees page, and book a consultation for guidance tailored to your situation.
Country-Specific Documents
There are no additional country-specific forms required beyond the standard IRCC spousal sponsorship forms.
Both the sponsor and the principal applicant must complete and electronically sign all required sponsorship and permanent residence forms as instructed by IRCC.
Document Instructions
IRCC currently lists no special document instructions for Uruguay.
Applicants should ensure that:
- civil status documents (birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce or death certificates if applicable) are clear, complete, and legible, and
all personal details are consistent across forms and supporting documents.
Translation Requirements
Any document that is not in English or French must be submitted with:
- a copy of the original document, and
- a certified translation that meets IRCC requirements.
Names, dates, and locations must match exactly across all documents and translations.
