Country-Specific Documents
- Travel History (IMM 5562): Required for the principal applicant and all family members aged 18+.
- Military Service (IMM 5546): Mandatory.
- Requirement: Submit a full copy of the military card or booklet, including all blank pages.
South Sudan is one of the few countries where IRCC requests extra physical photos.
- Requirement: Applicants residing in South Sudan must submit 3 additional photos per person, for a total of five photos for the applicant and each dependent.
Required Civil Documents
- Nationality Certificate: You must submit a clear copy of the Nationality Certificate. This is the primary proof of citizenship.
- Police Certificate: Applicants aged 18+ must provide a Police Clearance Certificate.
- Issuing Authority: Issued by the South Sudan National Police Service (CID).
Police Certificates (PCC)
All applicants aged 18+ require a Certificat de Police from the Direction Centrale de la Police Judiciaire (DCPJ). Obtaining this is currently fraught with difficulty:
- Severe Security Risks: Traveling to the DCPJ office in Port-au-Prince to apply in person can be life-threatening due to entrenched gang violence in the capital.
- Administrative Hurdles: Offices face intermittent closures due to strikes or insecurity, and processing is often delayed.
Translation Requirements
If any document is not in English or French, include:
- the original document (or required certified copy), plus
- a certified translation
Make sure names, dates, and document details match exactly between the original and the translation.
