If you are sponsoring a spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner from Singapore, you may be relieved to know that Singapore is considered a low-risk documentation country by IRCC. There are no additional country-specific forms beyond the standard sponsorship package, but accuracy and consistency are still critical.

Country-Specific Documents
No Additional IRCC Forms Required
Singapore does not require extra country-specific IRCC forms such as military service declarations or residency questionnaires. Applicants are assessed using the standard sponsorship framework.
If the applicant has an extensive travel or residence history, IRCC may request Supplementary Information – Your Travels (IMM 5562), but this is evaluated case by case rather than automatically required.
Other “Must-have” Documents
IRCC does not impose special formatting rules for Singapore-issued documents. However, all civil status documents—such as marriage certificates, divorce judgments, and birth certificates—must be clear, complete, and consistent with the information declared across the application.
Any discrepancies between identity documents and application forms may result in clarification requests or delays.
Biometrics
Most applicants from Singapore are required to provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo) after submission. Once IRCC issues the Biometrics Instruction Letter, biometrics must be completed at an authorized Visa Application Centre.
