Palestinian Authority (Gaza) to Canada Spousal Sponsorship

Sponsoring your spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner from Gaza? Due to the complex security environment, IRCC has extremely strict rules regarding Travel History and Document Formats.

Country-Specific Documents
- Travel History (IMM 5562): Required for the principal applicant and all family members aged 18+.
- Military Service (IMM 5546): Mandatory for anyone who has served in the military, police, security forces, or held a government position.
Requirement: You must submit a full copy of the military card or booklet, including all blank pages.
Required Civil Documents
IRCC has unique formatting rules for Palestinian documents.
- Marriage Certificates: IRCC requires the Manual (Non-Computerized) Marriage Certificate.
- Warning: If you have a modern computerized certificate, you must also submit the original handwritten marriage contract/certificate. The computerized version alone is often rejected.

- Passport History (5 Years): Unlike other regions, you must submit a full copy of all passports used in the last 5 years.
- Scan Requirement: You must scan every page, including blank pages, entry/exit stamps, and visas.
- National ID (Hawiya): You must provide a clear color copy of the Palestinian Identity Card (Hawiya).
Police Certificates (PCC)
- Police Certificate: Applicants aged 18+ must provide the Certificate of Non-Conviction (Certificate of Good Conduct).
- Issuing Authority: This is issued by the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Justice.
- Note: If you cannot obtain this due to the current situation, you must upload a detailed Letter of Explanation describing your efforts.
Translation Requirements
If any document is not in English or French, include:
- the original document (or required certified copy), plus
- a certified translation
Make sure names, dates, and document details match exactly between the original and the translation.
