Namibia to Canada Spousal Sponsorship
Last updated: January, 2026
Sponsoring a spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner from Namibia is generally a straightforward process, as IRCC does not impose additional country-specific documentation beyond the standard sponsorship requirements. While there are no extra forms for Namibian residents, careful preparation and consistency across all documents remain important for smooth processing.
With accurate documentation and well-organized evidence, applicants can move through the sponsorship process smoothly and confidently. If at any point you feel unsure about a document or a specific step, our consultants are available to guide you and help avoid costly delays. Country-Specific Documents
IRCC does not require any additional country-specific forms for residents of Namibia. In some cases, applicants may be asked to complete Supplementary Information – Your Travels (IMM 5562) if IRCC needs clarification regarding travel or residence history.
Other “Must-have” Documents
There are currently no special document instructions issued by IRCC for Namibia. Standard civil documents—such as marriage certificates, birth certificates, or divorce records—must be complete, legible, and consistent with the information declared in the application. Any document not issued in English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Biometrics
Most sponsored applicants from Namibia will be required to provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo) after submitting the application. Once IRCC issues the Biometrics Instruction Letter, biometrics must be completed at an authorized Visa Application Centre within the required timeframe.
