Liberia to Canada Spousal Sponsorship
Last updated: January, 2026
Sponsoring your spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner from Liberia? While the forms are largely standard, the Dakar Visa Office is strict about Late Birth Registrations and Identity.
From 2016 to 2025, we supported 132 clients from Liberia through the Canadian immigration process. If you’d like a full overview of spouse sponsorship Canada, you can just book a consultation with our Canadian immigration representatives. Also, you can check our Immigration Consultant Fees.
Country-Specific Documents
- Travel History (IMM 5562): Required for the principal applicant and all family members aged 18+.
- Military Service (IMM 5546): Required if the applicant has served in the military, police, or held a senior government position.
- Requirement: Submit a copy of all pages of the military booklet, including blank pages.
Required Civil Documents
In Liberia, birth certificates are often issued late. IRCC scrutinizes these closely.
- If the birth certificate was NOT issued at the time of birth: You cannot simply submit the certificate. You must also provide:
- The Supplementary Judgment authorizing the registration.
- Secondary Proof: School records, baptismal certificates, or a Health Card that lists the parents.
Police Certificates (PCC)
- Requirement: Applicants aged 18+ must provide a Police Clearance Certificate.
- Issuing Authority: This is issued by the Liberia National Police (LNP) Headquarters in Monrovia.
Translation Requirements
No Translations Needed: Since English is the official language of Liberia, your civil documents generally do not require translation.
If any document is not in English or French, include:
- the original document (or required certified copy), plus
- a certified translation
Make sure names, dates, and document details match exactly between the original and the translation.
