Because Lebanon does not rely on a centralized digital registry for vital events, IRCC requires ‘fresh,’ recently issued extracts to verify your family composition. These Lebanon-specific rules apply across all partner categories, regardless of whether you are married or common-law.

Country-Specific Documents

Travel History (IMM 5562): Required for the principal applicant and all family members aged 18+.
Military Service (IMM 5546): Required if the applicant has ever served in the army (including past mandatory service), internal security forces, or held a government position.
- Note: You must submit a full copy of the Military Service Booklet (Khedmeh Alam) or exemption card. Include all pages, even blank ones.

Required Civil Documents

Lebanese documents must be recent and certified. Old copies are often rejected.

Family Civil Status Extract (Ikhraj Kayd A’ili): This is the most important document. It proves your relationship to your spouse and children.
- Validity: Must be issued within the last 6 months.
- Certification: Must be certified by the Chief of the Civil Status Section (Nufous) in your Mohafazat.
Individual Civil Status Extract (Ikhraj Kayd Fardi): Often required for each person to prove current marital status and identity.
