Kazakhstan to Canada Spousal Sponsorship

Last updated: January, 2026

Sponsor spouse or partner from Kazakhstan to Canada

Planning to sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner from Kazakhstan? Unlike some regions, Kazakhstan does come with a defined set of country-specific IRCC requirements that applicants must prepare carefully. These additional forms and documents apply regardless of the relationship category and are closely reviewed by IRCC.

With accurate documentation and well-organized evidence, applicants can move through the sponsorship process smoothly and confidently. If at any point you feel unsure about a document or a specific step, our consultants are available to guide you and help avoid costly delays.  From 2016 to 2024, our Canadian immigration consultants have worked with 91 clients from Kazakhstan, helping them navigate these requirements accurately and confidently. You can book a consultation for personalized guidance or review our Immigration Consultant Fees to compare packages and choose the level of support that fits your needs. Travel History (IMM 5562)
Applicants residing in Kazakhstan must complete the Supplementary Information – Your Travels form. This requirement applies to the principal applicant and all accompanying family members aged 18 or older.

Military Service (IMM 5546)
If the applicant has ever served in the military, defence forces, police, or held a senior government position, the Details of Military Service form must be completed.
A full copy of the military card or booklet must be submitted, including all pages—even blank ones.

Labour Book / Workbook
Applicants aged 18+ who hold a Kazakh passport must provide a copy of all pages of their labour book (employment record). This document is commonly requested and often overlooked.

Divorce Documents
If a divorce took place in Kazakhstan, IRCC requires a copy of the final divorce decree (decree absolute).

Most applicants from Kazakhstan will be required to provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo) after submitting the application. IRCC will issue instructions, and biometrics must be completed at a designated Visa Application Centre.
