Jordan to Canada Spousal Sponsorship
Last updated: January 2026
Sponsoring your spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner from Jordan? While the process follows the standard path, the Amman Visa Office has specific strict requirements regarding Civil Documents and Passports.
From 2016 to 2025, we supported 114 clients from Jordan through the Canadian immigration process. If you’d like a full overview of Canada spouse sponsorship, you can just book a consultation with our Licensed immigration consultants. Also, you can check our Immigration Consultant Cost.
Country-Specific Documents
- Travel History (IMM 5562): Required for the principal applicant and all family members aged 18+.
- Military Service (IMM 5546): Required if the applicant has held a high-ranking government position or served in the military, army, defence, or police units (including National Service).
Requirement: Submit a copy of all pages of the military card or booklet, including blank pages.
Required Civil Documents
IRCC lists specific instructions for Jordanian applicants that differ from the standard checklist.
- Civil Status Certificate: You must provide a copy of a civil status certificate issued within the last 6 months. Old documents are not accepted.
- Passport Copies: Unlike most countries that only require the bio-page, for Jordan, you must submit copies of the first 4 pages of the passport, plus any pages with stamps or visas.
- Family Book (Daftar Al-Ailah): This is the primary document used to prove family composition in Jordan. We strongly recommend including a certified copy to prove the relationship between the sponsor, principal applicant, and any children.
Police Certificates (PCC)
Police Certificate: Applicants aged 18+ must provide the Certificate of Non-Criminal Record (Non-Conviction Certificate).
- Issuing Authority: Issued by the Department of Criminal Information (Public Security Directorate).
Validity: Must be recent (less than 3 months old is recommended).
Translation Requirements
If any document is not in English or French, include:
- the original document (or required certified copy), plus
- a certified translation
Make sure names, dates, and document details match exactly between the original and the translation.
