Georgia to Canada Spousal Sponsorship

Last updated: January, 2026

Sponsor spouse or partner from Georgia to Canada

If you are sponsoring a spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner from Georgia, it’s important to be aware that IRCC applies specific additional requirements for Georgian residents. While the core sponsorship framework remains the same, these country-specific forms and documents must be prepared carefully, as they are closely reviewed.

With accurate documentation and well-organized evidence, applicants can move through the sponsorship process smoothly and confidently. If at any point you feel unsure about a document or a specific step, our consultants are available to guide you and help avoid costly delays. From 2016 to 2024, our immigration advisors assisted 130 clients from Georgia in navigating Canada’s immigration system—whether reuniting with family, settling permanently, or planning their next steps in Canada. You can book an appointment for personalized guidance or review our Immigration Consultant Fees to compare packages and choose the level of support that fits your needs. Travel History (IMM 5562)
Applicants residing in Georgia must complete the Supplementary Information – Your Travels form. This requirement applies to the principal applicant and all accompanying family members aged 18 or older and helps IRCC assess residence and travel patterns.

Military Service (IMM 5546)
Any applicant who has served in the military, defence forces, police, or held a senior government position must complete the Details of Military Service form.
A complete copy of the military card or booklet must be submitted, including all pages—even if some pages are blank.

Supporting Military Documentation

For applicants with military history, IRCC expects supporting evidence to align with the information declared in IMM 5546. Missing pages or incomplete scans of military booklets are a common reason for document requests and delays.

Most applicants from Georgia will be required to provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo) after submission. IRCC will issue a Biometrics Instruction Letter, and biometrics must be completed at an authorized Visa Application Centre.
