Belarus to Canada Spousal Sponsorship

Sponsoring your spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner from Belarus? Due to the geopolitical situation, the Warsaw Visa Office (which currently processes Belarus) is extremely strict about Employment History and Military Records.

Country-Specific Documents
- Travel History (IMM 5562): Required for the principal applicant and all family members aged 18+.
- Military Service (IMM 5546): Mandatory.
- Requirement: Submit a full copy of the Military Booklet, including all blank pages.
Required Civil Documents
IRCC has unique requirements for Belarus.
- Labour Book: The principal applicant and all family members aged 18+ who hold a Belarusian passport must submit a copy of all pages of their Labour Book (or workbook).
- Divorce Documents: If divorced in Belarus, submit the official divorce document (Certificate of Divorce issued by ZAGS).
- Internal Passport: You must submit copies of the Internal Passport (pages with bio-data and registration/propiska), in addition to the international passport.
Police Certificates (PCC)
- Requirement: Applicants aged 18+ must provide a Certificate of Non-Conviction.
- Issuing Authority: This is issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) Information Center.
- Validity: IRCC generally requires this to be recent (less than 3-6 months).
Translation Requirements
If any document is not in English or French, include:
- the original document (or required certified copy), plus
- a certified translation
Make sure names, dates, and document details match exactly between the original and the translation.
