Bahama Islands to Canada Spousal Sponsorship
Last updated: January, 2026
If you are sponsoring a spouse or dependent children from the Bahamas, the process is relatively straightforward, as IRCC does not impose extensive country-specific requirements. However, accuracy across forms and supporting documents remains essential to avoid delays.
With accurate documentation and well-organized evidence, applicants can move through the sponsorship process smoothly and confidently. If at any point you feel unsure about a document or a specific step, our consultants are available to guide you and help avoid costly delays. From 2016 to 2024, we supported 68 clients from the Bahamas in pursuing their plans to study, work, or settle in Canada. You can book an appointment for personalized guidance or review our Immigration Consultant Fees to compare packages and choose the level of support that fits your needs. If you’d like a full overview of spouse sponsorship Canada, you can just book a consultation with our Canadian immigration representatives. Also, you can check our Immigration Consultant Cost.
Country-Specific Documents
There are no additional country-specific IRCC forms required for residents of the Bahamas beyond the standard sponsorship package. Applicants may be asked to complete Supplementary Information – Your Travels (IMM 5562) if IRCC requires a detailed travel or residence history.
Other "Must-have" Documents
IRCC does not currently list any special document instructions for the Bahamas. Civil status documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, or divorce records should be clear, complete, and consistent with the information declared in the application. Any document not issued in English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Biometrics
Most sponsored applicants will be required to provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo) after submitting the application. Once IRCC issues the Biometrics Instruction Letter, biometrics must be completed at an authorized Visa Application Centre within the specified timeframe.
