Azerbaijan to Canada Spousal Sponsorship

Country-Specific Documents
- Travel History (IMM 5562): Required for the principal applicant and all family members aged 18+.
- Military Service (IMM 5546): Mandatory if the applicant has served in the military, police, or held a government position.
- Requirement: You must submit a full copy of the Military Booklet (Hərbi Bilet), including all blank pages.
Required Civil Documents
Most civil documents in Azerbaijan are now centralized.
- Marriage Certificate: Submit the certificate issued by the Civil Registry Office (ZAGS).
- Identity Card (Şəxsiyyət Vəsiqəsi): You must submit a copy of the valid National Identity Card.
- Police Certificate: Applicants aged 18+ must provide a Reference on Non-Conviction.
- Issuing Authority: This is issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
- Pro Tip: You can easily apply for this via the ASAN Service centers or the MyGov portal.
Translation Requirements
If any document is not in English or French, include:
- the original document (or required certified copy), plus
- a certified translation
Make sure names, dates, and document details match exactly between the original and the translation.
