Country-Specific Documents

While there are no unique Austrian forms, accuracy on standard forms is key.

Travel History (IMM 5562): We strongly recommend completing this form for the principal applicant and all family members aged 18+.

Required Civil Documents

Austrian Civil Registry Offices (Standesamt) issue documents in various formats.

Pro Tip: Always request your Birth (Geburtsurkunde) and Marriage (Heiratsurkunde) certificates in the “International/Multilingual Format” (Internationale Urkunde).
- Why? These specific versions include English/French labels, meaning you do NOT need to pay for certified translations.
Residence Registration (Meldezettel): If you are applying as Common-Law, this document is crucial. It officially proves your shared address history and is standard for all Austrian residents.

Police Certificates (PCC)

Requirement: Applicants aged 14+ must provide a Criminal Record Certificate.
Issuing Authority: This is issued by the Criminal Record Office (Strafregisteramt) of the Federal Police Directorate.
Process: You can apply in person at any Police Commissariat or online via oesterreich.gv.at (using ID Austria).
