Israel to Canada Spousal Sponsorship
Applicants from Israel must follow the country-specific IRCC spousal sponsorship instructions in addition to the standard sponsorship checklist.
The Israel instructions require applicants to complete Supplementary Information – Your Travels IMM 5562 for the principal applicant and all family members included in the application who are 18 years old or older.
The Details of Military Service IMM 5546 must also be completed for anyone included in the application who has ever held a high-ranking or senior government position or served in the military, army, defence or police, including National Service. Where applicable, applicants must submit a copy of all pages of the military card or booklet, including blank pages.
There are no special country-specific document instructions for Israel.
Israel to Canada Study Permit
IRCC does not currently provide a separate Israel-specific study permit checklist, visa office checklist, or local document instructions. Applicants from Israel should therefore follow the standard IRCC study permit requirements and provide all supporting documents relevant to their studies, finances, and individual circumstances.
IRCC statistics show continued interest in Canadian education among Israeli citizens. 605 study permits were issued in 2021, 480 in 2022, 645 in 2023, 695 in 2024, and 575 in 2025. An additional 245 study permits were recorded from January to June 2026.
These figures reflect the ongoing presence of Israeli students in Canada’s international education system. Applicants should ensure that their study plans, financial resources, and supporting documents are clearly presented and meet all applicable IRCC requirements.
Israel to Canada Visitor Visa
Israeli citizens travelling to Canada with a valid Israeli passport generally do not need a Canadian visitor visa. When travelling to or transiting through Canada by air, they normally need an electronic travel authorization (eTA).
IRCC recorded 105 visitor visas associated with Israel in 2023, 130 in 2024, and 100 in 2025, followed by 65 from January to June 2026. These figures may include applicants residing in or applying from Israel who were not travelling on a visa-exempt Israeli passport.
Travel requirements depend on citizenship, passport type, and method of travel. Israeli citizens entering Canada by land or sea generally do not need an eTA, but they must carry a valid passport and meet Canada’s entry requirements.
