Recent IRCC figures highlight multiple routes for Bahamian applicants. Between January 2023 and March 2025, Canada welcomed 865 new permanent residents from the Bahamas. Economic immigration totaled 465, led by 245 through provincial nominee streams such as the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), 110 via the Canadian Experience Class, 25 under Atlantic Immigration Program, and 25 through the Federal Skilled Worker program managed under Express Entry.

Country-Specific Documents
There are no additional country-specific IRCC forms required for residents of the Bahamas beyond the standard sponsorship package. Applicants may be asked to complete Supplementary Information – Your Travels (IMM 5562) if IRCC requires a detailed travel or residence history.
Other "Must-have" Documents
IRCC does not currently list any special document instructions for the Bahamas. Civil status documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, or divorce records should be clear, complete, and consistent with the information declared in the application. Any document not issued in English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Biometrics
Most sponsored applicants will be required to provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo) after submitting the application. Once IRCC issues the Biometrics Instruction Letter, biometrics must be completed at an authorized Visa Application Centre within the specified timeframe.
