Armenia to Canada Spousal Sponsorship

Applicants applying for spousal sponsorship from Armenia must follow the country-specific IRCC instructions alongside the standard sponsorship application checklist. These instructions identify the additional local forms and supporting documents that may be required for an application involving Armenian nationals.

For Armenia applicants, the country-specific requirements include additional IMM forms, military service records where applicable, divorce documents, and copies of a labour book or workbook for Armenian passport holders aged 18 or older.

Applicants from Armenia must complete the following country-specific forms where applicable:

  • Supplementary Information – Your Travels [IMM 5562]
    • Required for the principal applicant.
    • Required for all family members included in the application who are 18 years old or older.
  • Details of Military Service [IMM 5546]
    • Required for anyone included in the application who has ever:
      • held a high-ranking or senior official government position, or
      • served in the military, army, defence, or police unit, including National Service.

If IMM 5546 applies, submit a copy of all pages of the person’s military card or booklet, including blank pages.

If the applicant got divorced in Armenia, submit a copy of the decree absolute.

The principal applicant and all family members included in the application who are 18 years old or older and hold an Armenian passport must provide a copy of all pages of their labour book or workbook.

Armenia to Canada Study Permit

IRCC does not currently provide a separate Armenia-specific study permit checklist, visa office checklist, or local document instructions. Applicants from Armenia should therefore follow the standard IRCC study permit requirements and provide all supporting documents relevant to their studies, finances, and individual circumstances.

IRCC statistics show continued interest in Canadian education among Armenian citizens. 45 study permits were issued in 2021, 60 in 2022, 70 in 2023, 90 in 2024, and 95 in 2025. An additional 40 study permits were recorded from January to June 2026.

These figures reflect the ongoing presence of Armenian students in Canada’s international education system. Applicants should ensure that their study plans, financial resources, and supporting documents are clearly presented and meet all applicable IRCC requirements.

Armenia to Canada Visitor Visa

IRCC does not provide a separate document checklist for Canadian visitor visa applicants from Armenia. Applicants should therefore follow the standard IRCC visitor visa requirements and submit the supporting documents requested through their online application.

IRCC recorded 1,105 visitor visas for Armenia in 2023, 1,200 in 2024, and 780 in 2025, followed by 420 from January to June 2026.

A Canadian visitor visa can allow eligible Armenian travellers to visit Canada temporarily for purposes such as tourism, visiting family or friends, or certain business activities. The supporting documents required will depend on the applicant’s individual circumstances, purpose of travel, financial situation, and plans for their temporary stay in Canada.
